MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Freshman forward
Aisling Roche of the Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team has been named Warhawk of the Week, as announced by the AUM Athletics Department on Wednesday morning.
ROCHE'S RALLY
Roche played 152 minutes across two matches last week and made a major impact in AUM's 2-2 draw against Alabama Huntsville. Trailing 2-0 in the second half, the freshman helped spark a Warhawk rally. After a goal from teammate
Chloe Wallace in the 65th minute,
Michaelyn Manning sent a well-placed pass ahead to Roche, who took on a defender and buried a shot into the left side of the net from the right edge of the box. Her equalizer capped AUM's two-goal comeback and secured the draw.
ROOKIE REPORT
In her debut season as a Warhawk, Roche has totaled 493 minutes over six starts. She has recorded seven shots and two goals for a total of four points.
