Volleyball Falters at Home to No. 21 Argos

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks volleyball team (3-21, GSC: 2-14) suffered a straight-set loss to the No. 21 University of West Florida (21-5, GSC: 14-2), Wednesday night from the AUM Athletics Complex.

West Florida was ranked 21st in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II poll.

HOW IT HAPPENED

AUM did have five straight points to cut the score to 18-12, but UWF went on a 7-3 run to take the opener, 25-15.

Set 2
Set two was a similar story for West Florida, as they got out to a 5-1 lead early in the set.

Addi Vinson and Courtney Joseph assisted for a block to make it 12-7, but the Argos ended the set on a 13-7 run to win set two, 25-14.

Set 3
The Warhawks saw a Joseph kill to made it an 8-5 deficit early, and later, a quick 4-0 run made it a 13-11 deficit.

A Kiara Vega and a Anyaliz Rodriguez and Montgomery assisted block kept the Warhawks in it.

However, the Argos used an 8-1 run late in the set to win the final frame 25-15.
