CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks women's basketball team (0-8, GSC: 0-2) fell to the Lee (Tenn.) University Flames 79-56 on Saturday afternoon at the Paul Dana Walker Arena.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
Samya Brooks dropped 12 points and went perfect from the floor (4-for-4 from the floor and 4-for-4 from the foul line) in the opening 10 minutes as the Warhawks took a 16-15 lead.

Second Quarter
Five different Lady Flames registered points in the second period and Lee outscored AUM 5-0 in the final 40 seconds of the quarter as the Flames took a 31-29 lead into the halftime intermission.

Third Quarter
Lee held the Warhawks to 31 percent shooting and shot 53 percent on the offensive end of the floor as it exploded for a 26-11 edge in the third quarter.

Fourth Quarter
AUM got seven points in the fourth quarter from Tamora Brown, all from the free throw line, and four more from Brooks, but Lee closed out a 79-56 win.

NOTABLES

• Brooks led all scorers with 20 points and added five rebounds.
• Brown went 11-for-12 from the free throw line and tallied 17 points while adding six rebounds and two assists.
• Abby McFarland scored 18 points to lead the Lady Flames. Anna Muhonen added 12 points. 
• 11 of Lee's 13 players scored at least two points.
• Lee made 10 three-pointers in the game to one for AUM.
• Lee held a slight edge in the paint, 28-22, and owned a 39-6 advantage in bench scoring. 
• The Lady Flames shared the ball to the tune of 20 assists on the afternoon.
