MONTGOMERY, Ala. – No. 2 Auburn University at Montgomery Softball (8-2, 3-0) completed the series sweep over No. 9 Trevecca Nazarene (9-3, 0-3) on Saturday.
Reese Cauley tossed a complete game shutout and allowed just three hits. She would improve to 5-0 on the season.
The top of the AUM lineup all contributed a hit in Saturday's game while
Chloe Baynes led the way in the leadoff spot with two.
AUM jumped ahead early with two runs in the first inning that proved to be enough to get the win on Saturday.
Cauley got her fifth win of the season after she went seven innings, allowed just three hits with seven strikeouts. On the year, the Freshman from Elba, Ala. holds a 1.36 ERA for the third best in the GSC, while totaling 27 strikeouts.
The Warhawks two runs in the first came on a RBI from
Lexi Love, who leads the teams at 13 so far this season, and a RBI triple from
Rebecca Komers. Komers third triple of the year leads the GSC.
AUM stands at the top of the GSC after opening league play at 3-0 over Trevecca Nazarene.
