Warhawks Drop 3-Game Series To Tigers

AUM will play host to Shorter on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Tyrese Rooks and Brendan York each extended their hitting streaks to 11 games with base knocks in each of AUM's games at West Alabama on Saturday.

Both Rooks and York continue to hit over .300 for the season and rank among the top two on the team in batting average and on-base percentage. York has seven singles against the Tigers, while Rooks had six singles and blasted his first home run of the season in Saturday's second game.

JC Tunnell had three doubles among his five hits and scored three times in the three games.

Four pitchers did not allow a run in their time on the mound this weekend, led by three innings by Lucas Baggett. Charlie Bagwell struck out three in 2.2 innings, while Will Passeau and Heath Henley were strong in their 2.0 and 1.1 innings of action, respectively.

Saturday Game One - UWA 6, AUM 3
UWA went ahead 3-0 after three innings with a solo home run in the first and a 2-run blast in the third. AUM's Ryan Revera cut into the lead in the fourth when he drove in Riley Orr on a 2-strike single up the middle.

The Tigers added two in the sixth on a bases loaded single and walk for a 5-1 lead. The Warhawks got RBI singles from York and Orr in the seventh and eighth to pull within 5-3, but the home team made it 6-3 with a run in the bottom of the eighth.

York went 3-for-5 and stole a base in the contest.

Payte Williams (0-3) worked five innings and struck out three while allowing three runs on four hits and four walks.

Saturday Game Two - UWA 10, AUM 3
