BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - AUM standout Max Ndiaye was named the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week on Tuesday as announced by the league office.
The first-year player from The Colony, Texas averaged 15 points and made a combined eight 3-pointers in the Warhawks' games against Alabama Huntsville and West Alabama last week.
He had a career-high game against third-ranked UAH, making 7-of-12 field goals, including 6-of-11 from outside on his way to 20 points in 40 minutes. He followed that up with 10 points and a pair of triples against UWA two days later.
He has scored in double figures in the last three games and is averaging 14.7 points per game during that stretch, along with 12-of-23 from outside.
