VALDOSTA, Ga. – Auburn University at Montgomery Women's Basketball (12-14, 10-10) fell to Valdosta State on the road on Thursday night, 78-45.
AUM Had just one scorer in double figures with
Carrington Jones at 17. The Warhawks struggled offensively and shot just 30% from the field and 4-18 from behind the arc.
Valdosta State shot 50% from the field and outrebounded AUM 36-29.
A back and forth first quarter ended with Valdosta State on top 10-15 after four lead changes. A 3-pointer to end the quarter put the Lady Blazers up five headed into the second quarter.
AUM outscored Valdosta State 24-17 in the second quarter and went into halftime up by a pair, 34-32.
The Warhawks struggled to score in the second half and scored just 11 points in the two quarters. The Lady Blazers forced the Warhawks into 11 turnovers as well in the second half.
Valdosta State was able to overcome the AUM lead out of halftime and outscore the Warhawks 46-11 in the second half.
AUM will close out the regular seaosn on saturday at West Florida.
