PENSACOLA, Fla. – The AUM baseball team fell to No. 25 West Florida, 3-0, at Jim Spooner Field on Saturday.
AUM (10-24, 7-14 Gulf South) won the series 2-1 and outhit the Argonauts in all three games.
UWF (20-12, 14-7) got a complete-game, 6-hit shutout from Kade Mandersheid (2-3) to salvage the series after losing both games on Friday.
Riley Orr and
Hayden Grier had two hits each for AUM.
Griffin Stewart (0-4) struck out three and allowed just one hit in four innings, but walked four and had an error on a pickoff attempt in the fourth.
UWF scored two runs with two outs in the fourth when Ben Maskin singled home Parker Tubb and Zach Stokes. The Argos added another score with two out in the eighth on a Brett Rowell infield single.
The Warhawks will return home to QV Lowe Field next weekend to play host to Valdosta State. The series is set to begin with a single game on Friday, April 4 at 5 p.m. The teams will play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. a day later.
