JACKSON, Tenn. - The AUM baseball team fell behind 6-1 after two innings and were unable to get any closer, dropping the first game of a 3-game series at Union, 13-3, in seven innings on Friday.
AUM (11-28, 8-17 Gulf South) had 11 hits from seven different players, including doubles from
RH Frankland,
Kyle Hipp and
Tyrese Rooks.
Kyle Hipp went 3-for-4 with an RBI, tying his season-high for hits for the third time.
The Warhawks left eight men on base, with six of those in scoring position.
Ryan Slaten (1-2) took the loss after allowing six runs over one-plus innings.Â
Union (16-23, 10-14) finished with 18 hits, including 3-hit games from Dyllon Barrett, Hudson Cepparulo, Calen Davis and Grant Ross. Cepparulo had RBI singles in the first and second and a 2-run triple in the sixth.
Eli Snelson (6-3) struck out six with no walks in a complete-game victory.
The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at Fesmire Field, beginning at 1 p.m.
