JACKSON, Tenn. – No. 6 Auburn University at Montgomery Softball (27-9, 18-7) take the series opener at Union (8-33, 5-21), 11-0.

AUM posted 11 runs in Friday's game and scored five in the seventh inning, to get the teams eleventh shutout victory of the season. 

The Warhawks came into Friday's series opener as the No. 6 ranked team nationally and the leader in the GSC.

A scoreless first inning between the Warhawks and Lady Bulldogs in the series opener. Reese Cauley, the reigning Freshman of the Week in the GSC, started in the circle for AUM. She retired seven Lady Bulldog batters, one shy of her season high.

The Warhawks got on the board in the second inning and added another run in the third to take a 2-0 lead. 

Chloe Baynes delivered the series' first RBI on a bunt single that scored Faith Wheat. The Lady Bulldogs committed a crucial defensive error in the inning. For the game, Union had four defensive errors. 

Cauley helped herself in the circle by picking up an RBI at the plate in the third inning that scored Rebecca Komers. 

In the fourth, AUM added a pair of runs on a two-run homerun from Lexi Love that stretched the lead out to four. After a single by Haley Ann Frank, Love would send a deep ball to left field for her second homer of the season. 

The Warhawks added two more in the sixth and five in the seventh to put the game out of reach. Cauley allowed just three hits in her six innings of work. Avery Dickerson came out in the seventh and closed the door. 

Baynes and Love both had three RBI to lead the Warhawk offense. Wheat also added three hits to go along with Baynes.
