MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery men's soccer team (3-1-1) used goals from
Noah Fernandes and
Benjamin Hoffmann and a pair of assists from
Robiston Lukau to defeat Carson-Newman University (0-3-2) 2-0 in the team's non-conference finale.

First Half
The Warhawks, ranked No. 25 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll, kickstarted the scoring in the game's 13th minute.

After a pair of early shots were deflected by the Carson-Newman defense, the Warhawks broke through with a strike from Fernandes off an assist from Lukau to give the home team a 1-0 advantage.

Carson-Newman's lone shot on target in the first half came in the 30th minute, but AUM goalkeeper
Matteo Maccagni made the first of two saves on the day to maintain the 1-0 lead at the halftime intermission.

Second Half
The orange and black found the scoreboard for the second time in the 60th minute, as Hoffmann continued his solid start to the year.Â

A season removed from ranking fifth in the Gulf South Conference in goals scored, Hoffmann netted his team-leading third goal of 2025 bolstered by another assist from Lukau.

Four of Carson-Newman's five shots in the second half were on target, but the AUM defense was up to the task each time to record the shutout.Â

- The match marked the second clean sheet of the season for the defending GSC tournament champions.
- The Eagles outshot AUM 12-10, with a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.Â
