MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Junior forward Colby Brown of the Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks men's basketball team has been named Warhawk of the Week as announced by the AUM Athletics Department on Friday afternoon.
Williams' Week
Colby Williams had a strong week for the Warhawks in two road matchups, beginning with a standout performance at West Florida on Thursday night in Pensacola, Florida. Williams led the team with a season-high 22 points while playing 30 minutes, shooting an efficient 7-for-10 from the field (70.0%) and 8-for-9 from the free-throw line (88.9%). He also added six rebounds, including one offensive and five defensive, along with one steal in the contest.
Williams followed that effort with another solid outing at Valdosta State on Saturday, logging nearly 23 minutes of action. He finished with 15 points, shooting 5-for-9 from the field (55.6%) and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. He contributed five rebounds in the game, pulling down two offensive and three defensive boards, continuing to provide consistent production on both ends of the floor.
Season Snapshot
Through 16 games this season, Williams has been a consistent presence in the Warhawks' lineup, averaging 10.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while starting every contest. He is shooting 47.4% from the field and 70.7% from the free-throw line. Williams has also contributed across the stat sheet with 16 assists, 16 steals and nine blocks, while logging 458 total minutes on the season.
In addition to his scoring, Williams has recorded double-digit points in nine games this season and has been especially effective around the rim.
