MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks women's basketball team (2-11, GSC: 2-5) won their second straight GSC road contest with a 56-45 victory over the Montevallo Falcons (3-9, GSC: 2-5) on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
The Falcons opened the afternoon with a trio of three-point baskets in the first four minutes of play. AUM answered when
Ameyah Gray knocked down a triple of her own to spark a scoring run.
Tamora Brown followed with a pair of field goals before Gray connected from beyond the arc once again.
The Warhawks continued to build momentum as Navaeh Small and
Andie Flatgard added to the scoring, giving AUM a 19-10 lead with just over two minutes remaining in the opening quarter. Strong defensive efforts on both ends closed the period with the Warhawks holding a 19-12 advantage.

Second Quarter
Montevallo opened the second quarter with five straight points before
Shelby McAllister hit a three-pointer to keep AUM in front. Brown then scored the next five points herself, and
Keziah Seay capped the run with a layup to extend the Warhawks' lead to 31-20.
A late three from Montevallo's Audrey Hendrix trimmed the Falcons' deficit, sending AUM into the halftime break with a 31-23 lead.

Third Quarter
Once again, the Falcons struck first, cutting the margin to 31-26, but Flatgard quickly responded with a three-pointer that ignited a nine-point run for the Warhawks.
Montevallo made a pair of free throws at the 3:40 mark, but AUM closed the quarter strong by scoring the final six points, extending its lead to 46-28 heading into the final period.

Fourth Quarter
Looking to gain momentum in the final 10 minutes, Montevallo opened the quarter by scoring 14 of the first 16 points to narrow AUM's lead to 48-42 with just over three minutes remaining.
After trading baskets,
Samya Brooks and Gray combined for four points down the stretch to keep the Warhawks in control, securing a 56-45 road victory.

- Samya Brooks put up 13 points while shooting 50 percent from the field (5-of-10).
- Ameyah Gray recorded 10 points, and Keziah Seay notched 10 boards.
