MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team (3-5; GSC: 0-0) fell to the Spring Hill Badgers (2-6), 12–2, on Tuesday night in Mobile, Alabama, with the game concluding after eight innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spring Hill Badgers came out hot in the opening innings, jumping out to an early lead with four runs in the first and adding four more in the second to take an 8–0 advantage over AUM.
Auburn Montgomery answered in the top of the third, as John Kiebler reached on a single and later came around to score on a sacrifice fly from Christopher McNeill, putting the Warhawks on the board.
AUM's pitching staff then settled in, holding the Badgers scoreless in the third inning to keep the game within reach. Spring Hill tacked on three runs in the fourth to extend its lead, but the Warhawks responded again in the fifth. After Kiebler and Brice Ainsworth were both hit by pitches, Kurt Kizer delivered an RBI single to right center to bring home Kiebler and make it 11–2.
Auburn Montgomery continued to battle offensively over the final innings, recording singles from Chance Sweeney, Andrew Lutz, and McNeill, while the pitching staff held Spring Hill scoreless again in the fifth and sixth innings. The Badgers added one final run in the seventh to seal the 12–2 decision.
