MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks men's basketball team (5-18, GSC: 3-14) fell to the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans (15-8, GSC: 10-7) with a final score of 85-77 on Wednesday evening from the AUM Athletics Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
An even start saw four points from
Colby Williams and five from
Omar Zeigler, including a three-point bucket, setting the score at 10-9 with the Trojans leading at the first media timeout.
Â
After the break and a few points from each side,
Devin Barksdale turned up the heat with back-to-back three-point daggers to put AUM in front 19-14.Â

Over the next three minutes, Trevecca Nazarene edged back, despite another triple from Barksdale, cutting AUM's lead to 26-25. The difference stood at four points or less as the team's traded points, until C. William's free throws put the Warhawks ahead 40-35 with about six minutes left in the first half.

The next four field goals went to the opponents, giving them a 44-42 lead. Zeigler sank a layup with under a minute to play, however, Trevecca Nazarene beat the buzzer, holding a 46-44 lead at the halftime break.

Second Half
C. Williams opened the second half with a jumper, but the Trojans responded with the next nine points, giving them a 55-46 advantage.

Jayden Doyle ended the Trojans' streak with a three-point dagger, however, TNU's Brett Wright responded with his own three not long after.

A 7-4 run from the Trojans took us to the under 8-minute media timeout with the orange and black trailing 72-60.

Trevecca Nazarene's Jax Abernathy hit a three, but
Ti'Avian Scruggs answered with a big time triple of his own. This gave the Warhawks some momentum as they went on to take 12 of the next 14 points, including Barksdale's fourth three-pointer of the day.

Despite AUM's late efforts, the Trojans went on to secure an 85-77 win.

- Colby Williams led the Warhawks' offense with 19 points while shooting 66.7 (8-of-12) percent from the field and adding nine rebounds.
- Devin Barksdale was a close second with 18 points, shooting at a 57.1 (4-of-7) rate from outside the arc. He also recorded five rebounds and a pair of assists.
- Jayden Doyle, Ti'Avian Scruggs, and Omar Zeigler each scored in double figures for the Warhawks.
- The Trojans outscored AUM 46-38 in the paint.
