CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team dropped the final two games of its series against Lee on Saturday afternoon at Larry Carpenter Stadium. The Warhawks fell 14–4 in game one before coming up short 5–1 in the second contest. Both games concluded after seven innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One; AUM 4; LEE 14
AUM struck first in the top of the first inning. Cannon Miller singled to right field before Luke Turner reached on a fielder's choice. Christopher McNeil then doubled to center field, driving in Turner to give the Warhawks a 1–0 lead.
Lee answered in the bottom half of the inning to even the score at 1–1.
After a scoreless second inning for both teams, AUM threatened in the third. Landon Baeder singled and stole second, while Brice Ainsworth walked to put two runners on. Miller laid down a bunt single to load the bases, but the Warhawks were unable to capitalize as Lee turned a double play to end the inning.
Lee took the lead in the bottom of the third with a solo home run to go ahead 2–1.
The Flames added four runs in the fourth inning, extending it's lead to 6-1.
AUM responded in the fifth with the help of a single from Baeder and a double from Ainsworth to left field to put two runners in scoring position. Miller grounded out to drive in Baeder, and Turner followed with an RBI single up the middle to score Ainsworth and cut the deficit to 6–3.
Lee added two runs in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single to extend the lead to 8–3.
In the sixth inning, John Kiebler provided a spark. He lead off the frame with his first home run of the season, to pull AUM within 8–4. Lee answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning to extend its lead to 9–4. The Warhawks turned two defensive double plays late in the game to help limit additional damage from the Flames, one in the sixth and one in the seventh. Lee added five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, including a two-run home run, to secure the 14–4 victory.
Notables
AUM recorded nine hits in the contest, including two doubles and one home run.
John Kiebler hit his first home run of the season, a solo shot in the top of the sixth.
Cannon Miller went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.
Luke Turner finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Landon Baeder went 2-for-3, scored one run, and stole a base.
Christopher McNeill doubled and drove in a run, accounting for AUM's first RBI of the game.
Brice Ainsworth recorded a double and a walk, scoring one run.
Parker Wilson made his fifth appearance of the season, earning the start on the mound.
The Warhawks drew four walks and turned two double plays defensively, one in the sixth and another in the seventh.
Game Two; AUM 1; LEE 5
Lee scored first in the bottom of the first inning on a sacrifice RBI groundout after a leadoff single and a pair of stolen bases. The Flames added a run in the second inning on an RBI single to push the lead to 2–0.
AUM was held scoreless through the first five innings but threatened periodically, including singles from Kyle Hipp and Kurt Kizer.
The Flames extended their lead in the fourth inning with a solo home run and an RBI groundout to go up 4–0. Lee added another solo home run in the fifth inning to push the lead to 5–0.
AUM broke through in the seventh inning. Kizer doubled down the left field line and later scored when Cannon Miller doubled down the right field line to drive in AUM's lone run of the game.
Lee held AUM scoreless the rest of the way to secure the win, 5-1.
Notables
Kurt Kizer led AUM offensively, going 2-for-2 with a double and scoring the team's only run.
Cannon Miller finished 1-for-3 with an RBI double.
The Warhawks totaled five hits, including two doubles.
Huston Wynne and Kobe Wiggins combined on the mound, allowing 5 runs over seven innings, combining for three strikeouts.

The Warhawks will return home on Tuesday, March 3 for a nonconference matchup against Georgia Southwestern at the AUM Baseball Complex with the first pitch set for 5 pm.
