AUM Scores First, Records Triple Play in Road Loss at Georgia Southwestern

AMERICUS, Ga. - The Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team (1-3; GSC: 0-0) fell to Georgia Southwestern (3-1), 11–1, on Tuesday evening at Hurricane Stadium in Americus, Georgia, with the game concluding after seven innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Auburn University at Montgomery struck first in the opening inning, stringing together three consecutive singles from Dom Regira, Kurt Kizer, and Christopher McNeill to load the bases. The Warhawks capitalized moments later when Tucker Burns grounded out, allowing Regira to score from third and give AUM an early 1–0 advantage.

That momentum carried into the bottom of the second inning, where the Warhawks turned a triple play to escape the frame and keep Georgia Southwestern off the scoreboard. The ball was hit to Kizer at third base, who stepped on the bag before throwing to Brice Ainsworth at second and then to first baseman Kyle Hipp to complete the play.

Georgia Southwestern responded in the bottom of the third inning with a five-run frame. The Hurricanes added runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to steadily extend their lead.

Despite the early run and defensive highlight, the contest concluded after seven innings, with AUM falling to the Hurricanes, 11–1.
