MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks women's tennis team (0-2) fell on the road to Nova Southeastern (3-0) on Saturday morning at the Valdosta State Tennis Courts in Valdosta, Georgia for a neutral site match, 0-4.
Doubles
Nova Southeastern claimed the doubles point with wins on all three courts. At the No. 1 position, the Sharks defeated Melissa Yakup Pour and Nagisa Yonezawa, 6-1. On court No. 3, the duo Allison Blanco and Mercedes Garcia Cid fell 6-4 in a tight game. NSU completed the sweep against the Warhawks as Noemie Dadoun and Chloe Henderson also earned a 6-4 victory over Ana Clara Campigotto and Sofia Neri on No. 2.
Singles
Singles play opened with a win for Nova Southeastern as Jana Boegner defeated Mercedes Garcia Cid, 6-2, 6-2. The next point for the Sharks came at the No. 1 spot where Kristyna Hranacova defeated Melissa Yakup Pour with a win by opponent retirement. NSU clinched the match at the No. 2 position when Katja Markus defeated Sofia Neri.
Matches at the No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles positions were left unfinished following the team decision.
