The Cougars added to their lead in the fourth inning, using a sacrifice fly and an RBI single to push the advantage to 6-0.

The Warhawks got on the board in the bottom of the fourth as Kyle Hipp connected his seventh homerun of the season, a solo home run to left center, cutting into the deficit at 6-1.

Columbus State was held in check over the next few innings, but broke the game open in the eighth. The Cougars plated 12 runs on nine hits, taking advantage of multiple base runners and extending their lead to 18-2.

The Warhawks were unable to respond in the bottom half, as Columbus State secured the 18-2 victory.
