Breylee Linder Named AUM Volleyball Head Coach

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Auburn University at Montgomery Director of Athletics Erik Maas has announced the hiring of Breylee Linder as the next head coach of the Warhawk volleyball program.

"We are excited to welcome Breylee as the leader of our volleyball program," said Maas. "She has already demonstrated the ability to build culture, develop student-athletes, and elevate a program through strong leadership and a clear vision. We believe her passion, competitiveness, and commitment to excellence make her the right person to lead our volleyball program and positively impact our student-athletes both on and off the court."

Linder, a rising star with a proven background in program development, recruiting, and student-athlete success, joins AUM as the fourth head coach in program history after serving two seasons as the head women's volleyball coach at Mississippi University for Women.

"I am incredibly honored and grateful to Athletic Director Erik Maas, Chancellor Dr. Carl Stockton, and the entire administration for the opportunity to lead the AUM volleyball program," said Linder. "Throughout the process, it became clear that AUM is committed to excellence and provides the support necessary to build a highly competitive program. I look forward to building a program that competes relentlessly while equipping our student-athletes with the tools to excel in all aspects of their lives."

During her two seasons leading the Owls, Linder guided a significant turnaround of the program, helping elevate MUW from the bottom of the conference standings into a top-three conference finisher while establishing a strong culture centered around discipline, communication, and player development. In 2025, she helped lead the program to its winningest season in the modern era. In addition, under her leadership, the program reached several more historic milestones, including producing the first all-conference selections and hosting the program's first conference tournament.

Linder also emphasized excellence in the classroom as the Owls earned back-to-back American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Awards with team GPAs of 3.70 and 3.50, while multiple student-athletes collected numerous individual academic honors.

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Linder spent more than three years serving as Club Volleyball Director for Level Elite Sports, Mississippi Juniors. In that role, she oversaw athlete development across multiple age groups while building relationships with prospective student-athletes, club programs, and families throughout the region.

Beyond coaching, Linder served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor at MUW where she helped develop student-athlete leaders and organize campus and departmental initiatives focused on community engagement and service opportunities.

Prior to beginning her coaching career, Linder competed at the Division I level for the University of North Alabama in both indoor volleyball and beach volleyball from 2019-2022. During her career with the Lions, she balanced competing at the highest collegiate level while developing the leadership, communication, and competitive skills that helped shape her coaching philosophy. As a setter, she also set the school's Division I records for assists in a match and assists in a season.

Linder earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from North Alabama before earning a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion.
