MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team continued its success in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year, earning recognition as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II Women's All-Academic Team while six Warhawks were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced.
The Warhawks posted a 3.95 team GPA, the highest among all AUM athletic programs during the 2025-26 academic year. On the court, AUM finished the season with a 6-13 overall record and a 3-5 mark in Gulf South Conference play while competing against a challenging schedule featuring multiple nationally ranked opponents.
ITA Scholar Athletes
Ana Clara Campigotto | 4.00 GPA | General Business
Campigotto earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition while maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA in general business. She also earned CSC Academic All-District honors. Campigotto contributed throughout the season in singles and doubles play, recording a 4 singles and doubles victories.
Valeria Garcia | 4.00 GPA | Communications
Garcia earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors after maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA while pursuing her degree in communications. She contributed throughout the season in both singles and doubles, finishing the season with a 4-7 singles record and a 3-5 doubles mark for the Warhawks.
Mercedes Garcia Cid | 4.00 GPA | Economics
Garcia Cid earned Second Team All-Gulf South Conference honors following a strong freshman campaign for AUM. She competed primarily at No. 2 and No. 3 singles and doubles, finishing with an 8-9 singles record and an 8-11 doubles record. Garcia Cid recorded singles victories over ranked opponents No. 3 West Alabama and No. 6 Mississippi College. She also contributed in doubles alongside Allison Blanco and Sofia Neri while earning GSC Freshman of the Week honors five times during the season.
Sofia Neri | 4.00 GPA | Psychology
Neri earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition after maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA while pursuing her degree in psychology. She contributed throughout the season in both singles and doubles competition while helping the Warhawks compete against several nationally ranked opponents.
Melissa Yakup Pour | 4.00 GPA | Finance
Yakup Pour capped off an outstanding senior season by earning First Team All-GSC honors and ITA All-American recognition while competing primarily at No. 1 singles and doubles. She finished the season ranked as high as No.9 nationally in singles and No. 22 in doubles, posting an 8-9 singles record and a 10-7 doubles mark alongside Nagisa Yonezawa.
The senior recorded several key victories throughout the season, including a win over then-No. 5 Emily Buchanan of Mississippi College, while earning two GSC Player of the Week honors. Yakup Pour and Yonezawa also recorded doubles victories over No. 10 Columbus State and No. 17 Valdosta State.
Nagisa Yonezawa | 3.80 GPA | Marketing
Yonezawa earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors after posting a 3.80 GPA in marketing. She contributed at the top of the lineup, competing at No. 1 in doubles. Yonezawa finished the season with a 4-12 singles record and a 10-7 doubles record alongside Yakup Pour. The duo was ranked as high as No. 22 during the season. She also earned GSC Freshman of the Week honors twice during the season.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must post a cumulative team grade point average of at least 3.20 on a 4.00 scale. Additionally, all student-athletes included must be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners are factored into the team's cumulative GPA for the current academic year. To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, student-athletes must maintain a GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
