AUM Cross Country Unveils 2026 Schedule

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Auburn University at Montgomery Head Cross Country Coach Ryan Thompson has announced the 2026 men's and women's cross country schedule.

This season marks Thompson's 10th at the helm of the Warhawks' men's and women's cross country programs.

"The schedule this year is a nice mix of some really big invitationals and some of our usual suspects," Thompson said. "On the women's side, this incoming class is the most talented we have ever had. The question for them will be how far we can move up as a team at the conference and regional levels.

"On the men's side, we lost one member of our top seven, but we are hoping to continue pushing the fitness needle with a more experienced group. I think I can speak on behalf of the men's team that we want to make a very strong push to qualify for nationals. Our first meet in Huntsville will give us a good idea of where we are."

The women's team opens the 2026 campaign on Sept. 11 at the Queen City Invite in Charlotte, North Carolina, before traveling to Montevallo, Alabama, for the Falcon Classic on Sept. 18.

The men's team begins its season at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Alabama, on Sept. 18.

Both teams will then compete together at the Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky, on Oct. 3 before making their final regular-season appearance at the UAH DII Showcase in Huntsville on Oct. 24.

Postseason competition begins Nov. 6 as the Warhawks travel to Nashville, Tennessee, for the GSC Championships.

AUM enters the 2026 postseason looking to build on a successful 2025 campaign. The women's squad recorded a program-best 10th-place finish at the NCAA South Regional Championships, while the men's team finished fourth at the GSC Championships before tying the best regional finish in program history with an eighth-place showing at the NCAA South Regional Championships.

The Warhawks will return to Huntsville for the NCAA South Regional Championships on Nov. 21, with qualifying individuals and teams advancing to the NCAA Division II National Championships on Dec. 4 in Lawrence, Kansas.
