MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Senior Ashley Nelson, of the Auburn University at Montgomery women's golf team has been named Warhawk of the Week, as announced by the AUM Athletics Department, Thursday morning.
Nelson's Performance
Nelson turned in a strong performance at the Full Moon BBQ Invitational, hosted by the Montevallo Falcons, finishing eighth individually to lead the Warhawks in their opening tournament of the 2026 season.
Nelson opened the tournament with rounds of 77 (+6) and 74 (+3), finishing the first day in 10th place with a two-round total of 151 (+9). She remained inside the top 10 heading into the final round before closing the tournament with her best round of the week, carding a 73 (+2).
Her final-round performance moved Nelson into eighth place individually, finishing the tournament with a three-round score of 224 (+11) and leading the Warhawks to a sixth-place team finish with a total score of 950 (+98).
Nelson's eighth-place finish marked a strong start to the season as she paced AUM's lineup throughout the three-round tournament.
