Auburn University at Montgomery Athletics

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks volleyball team (2-7) hosted the first day of the 2026 Warhawk Invitational on Friday, dropping a pair of matches to the Middle Georgia State Knights () 3-1, and the Albany State Golden Rams (), 3-0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One – AUM 1, MGS 3
Set One
AUM opened the match with a strong offensive performance, hitting .378 with 15 kills and just one attack error. The Warhawks took a 25-21 victory in the opening set.
 
Set Two
Middle Georgia responded in the second set, overcoming an early AUM advantage to take a 25-20 win and even the match at 1-1.
 
Set Three
The Knights carried their momentum into the third set, using a 16-10 run to pull away from the Warhawks and claim the set 25-15.
 
Set Four
AUM battled throughout the fourth set, with the score tied at 23-23 late in the frame. Middle Georgia State scored the final two points to secure a 25-23 victory and close out the match 3-1.

• Chelsea Daffin led the Warhawks with 15 kills and added 13 digs.
• Gabriella Wokatsch recorded 10 kills, seven digs and two service aces.
• Jamya Powell finished with nine kills.
• Jaslyn Montgomery posted six kills while adding two total blocks.

Game Two – AUM 0, Albany State 3
Set One
Albany State jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, but the Warhawks battled back and eventually tied the set at 16-16. The Golden Rams answered with a late push to take the opening set 25-22.
 
Set Two
AUM and Albany State traded points early in the second set before the Golden Rams began to create separation. Albany State took a 25-20 victory to move within one set of the match win.
 
Set Three
The Warhawks fought to extend the match, battling back from an early deficit and eventually taking a 22-20 lead. Albany State closed the set with a 5-1 run to earn a 25-23 victory and complete the three-set sweep.
