HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks volleyball team (2-4) closed out competition at the UAH Invitational on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 3-0 match to the Mars Hill Lions (5-2).

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE
Mars Hill jumped out to an early 8-0 lead before the Warhawks settled in and began to chip away at the deficit. AUM cut the difference to five at 16-11, but the Lions pulled away late to take the opening set 25-13.

SET TWO
The Warhawks kept the second set competitive early, trading points with Mars Hill before the Lions created some separation. AUM again cut the deficit to five at 16-11, but Mars Hill extended its lead and took the set 25-16 to go up 2-0.

SET THREE
AUM came out strong in the third set, opening with a 4-0 lead behind kills from
Mya Lacey and
Jori Taylor, along with a service ace from
Gabriella Wokatsch. Mars Hill responded to take control, but the Warhawks continued to battle and eventually regained an 11-9 advantage. The Lions answered with a strong run of their own and closed out the set 25-18 to complete the 3-0 win.

The Warhawks will host their home opener against Miles on Tuesday, September 8 at 6 p.m. Tuesday will feature Warhawk Spotlight.
