2024: Made 16 appearances and 14 starts for the Warhawks with a 7-3 record...recorded 57 strikeouts against just 20 walks in a team-high 67.2 innings pitched...posted seven wins in GSC play, the second-best mark in the league…also ranked Top 10 in the GSC overall in wins (ninth) and batter's struck out looking (fifth - 19)...struck out five or more hitters four times on the season, including a career-high nine strikeouts in a season-high seven frames against West Alabama...allowed one earned run or less in eight appearances...key rotation piece of an AUM squad that set Division II-era program records for total wins (32) and conference wins (20)…helped AUM win seven games against opponents ranked or receiving votes in national polls…also helped the Warhawks grab their first-ever GSC tournament win and first-ever berth into the NCAA South Region tournament...helped AUM defeat Savannah State in 10 innings to notch the program's first NCAA South Region tournament win...also helped lead the squad to the program's highest-ever ranking in the ABCA Top 30 poll (No. 21) and its highest-ever ranking in the NCBWA South Region Poll (4th).
2023: Went 3-5 across 15 appearances and 13 starts for the Warhawks...led the team in innings with 69.1...posted two complete games and one save...struck out 39 batters with a .256 opponent's batting average...tossed five shutout innings with two hits allowed and five strikeouts in an 11-0 win over nationally-ranked Lenoir Rhyne University...fired a complete game in a win over Mississippi College where he struck out four and scattered a run on five hits and two walks across seven strong innings...also logged a six-inning complete game effort against West Florida where he allowed just three earned runs.
2022: Made 18 appearances on the mound, with 11 starts to his credit…compiled a record of 4-3, with a team-high three saves…struck out 43 batters over 54.2 innings of labor…amassed a 4.94 earned run average…struck out a season-high eight batters against Embry-Riddle on Feb. 13…tossed season-best 6.1 scoreless innings against Shorter on April 30…was named the program's first GSC Freshman of the Week on May 3.
PREP: Was a four-year letter winner at Pike Road High School in Pike Road, Ala., where he played under Head Coach and AUM baseball alum Allen Ponder…helped lead the Patriots to a runner-up finish in the AHSAA Baseball 5A State Championship in 2021, a year in which he also earned All-State honors.
PERSONAL: Full name is Clayton Thomas Slagle…born on June 26, 2003…son of Lee and Heather Slagle…has an older brother, Caleb.
