Katie Roberts enters her fourth season as the women's soccer assistant coach in 2024.

Assisted by Roberts, Karla Gaytan, Anila Mantello, and Gaby Walker were also named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team. The Warhawks secured their second-most wins in Herrity's tenure. Newcomer Laia Gonzalez excelled on the pitch in her first season for the Warhawks, as she appeared in all 18 games and drew 12 starts. She led the team with 10 points, tied for the team lead with three goals scored, and ranked second on the squad with four assists. Gonzalez ranked in a tie for fourth in the GSC in assists.

Off the field, the Warhawks continue to soar to new heights in giving back to the community. This past season, the Warhawks ranked fourth in community service hours among all NCAA Division II women's soccer programs. It marked the third consecutive season that the program placed in the Top 10 among the division's women's soccer programs for community service hours logged. 

Roberts helped the Warhawks score 17 goals during the 2022 campaign and posted three victories against GSC opponents including a dominating 4-1 win on Senior Day against Shorter University. AUM also earned a 1-1 draw against 18th-ranked Lee University on Oct. 16. Eight players bagged a goal with nine players earning at least one assist, and AUM placed 18 athletes on the GSC Fall Academic Honor Roll. 

Roberts joined the AUM coaching staff on August 4, 2021 from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Ga., where she worked as an assistant coach since the fall of 2018.

While in Americus, Roberts assisted with all aspects of the program, including recruiting, planning and running training sessions, game preparation, film breakdown, travel planning, community service engagement, academics monitoring, and weight room training. Roberts worked with Hurricane goalkeepers in 2018, and additionally handled head coaching responsibilities in the 2019-20 and 2021 off-seasons while the position was vacated. 
 
Prior to her time in Americus, Roberts served as an assistant coach at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio from 2017-2018, where she worked primarily with midfielders and forwards. Under Roberts' guidance, the Lions led the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference with 58 goals scored in 2017 while forward Kaylan Gruber earned United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American honors. 
 
Prior to St. Joseph, Roberts was a volunteer coach at High Point University in High Point, N.C., where she was responsible for working with the HPU forwards. She also assisted with all aspects of the program including planning training sessions, film breakdown, assisting with gameday operations and the Fit for 90 athlete wellness monitoring system.
 
Roberts was a four-year letter winner at the University at Buffalo and was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2014. Over four years with the Bulls, Roberts played in 79 games with 60 starts and notched 53 points on 23 goals and seven assists. She was named to the MAC All-Freshman Team after leading the team in goals and assists in 2011 and led the team to a MAC Championship as a senior with 12 goals and three assists in 22 games.
 
Roberts holds a USSF E Coaching License. A native of Homerville, Ohio, she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University at Buffalo in May of 2015, while minoring in Education.
