On Monday, July 26, Auburn University at Montgomery Director of Athletics Jessie Rosa and head coach Flavia Siqueira announced the addition of Kody Bivins as assistant coach with the volleyball program.
"I would like to thank head coachÂ
Flavia Siqueira and director of athleticsÂ
Jessie Rosa for this amazing opportunity to join the AUM family, said Bivins. "I am thrilled to be assisting coach Flavia and I'm looking forward to helping continue to build on the program's success."
He aided Maryville College to their first-ever national ranking in the AVCA Volleyball national poll, as the Scots were able to finish the season ranked No. 25 in the polls. Additionally, Bivins coached four all-conference members and two USA South Players of The Week.
"He was in a program that I played against for many years," said head coachÂ
Siqueira. "What we are trying to do at AUM is to get quality people, and he fit in that system. He is a very young coach, but he is a great person to have on our squad."
Prior to his time at Maryville College, Bivins spent four years as the assistant volleyball coach/recruiting coordinator at Polk State College in Winter Haven, Fla. He was responsible for overseeing the team's offense, as well as the position coach for setters and middles.
While with the Eagles, he aided his team to four NJCAA national tournament appearances, finishing as high as third in 2016. Bivins was also part of two Mid-Florida Conference championship teams and coached five NJCAA all-Americans.
