LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Auburn University at Montgomery volleyball team earned the 2023 United States Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award.

The USMC and the AVCA announced today that 1,333 collegiate and high school volleyball teams have earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award this season. This marks an all-time record number of programs honored for their academic achievements. The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.

The Warhawks join University of Montevallo, The University of Alabama in Huntsville, University of West Florida, University of West Georgia, and Mississippi College as the Gulf South Conference members that won the award. 

AUM has been tabbed with the academic award for the third time in four years, after winning it in 2020 and 2021.
