MOBILE, Ala. – Junior setter Carly Smart and freshman outside hitter Skylar Coppinger recorded double-doubles for the Auburn Montgomery volleyball team on Tuesday evening, but it was not enough for the Warhawks in a 3-1 setback to Spring Hill College (28-26, 21-25, 25-22, 25-22).

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing for the bulk of the opening frame, AUM used a late 6-1 run to create set point at 24-23. SHC responded with back-to-back tallies to force their own set point and scored five of the final seven points of the frame to claim the first set.
• AUM grabbed a 17-12 lead in the second stanza off a 6-0 run after a back-and-forth opening. SHC cut into the lead with three-straight points before a 6-1 run by the Warhawks created a seven-point cushion at 23-16.
• Spring Hill College led the entire third frame, leading by as many as eight after a 9-2 run made it 20-12. AUM matched the hosts' run to bring the separation back to one at 22-21 but SHC scored three of the final four points to take the frame.
• Using a math-best 18 kills on a frame-high .282 hitting percentage, Spring Hill was able to fend off AUM in the fourth set to close out the match. AUM led early, using a 3-0 spurt to take a 5-4 lead before a 9-1 run for the Badgers created a 13-6 separation. Facing set point at 24-19, the Warhawks tried to mount a comeback with three-straight points before a SHC kill ended the contest.
