MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Playing in their second one-possession contest in as many days, the Auburn Montgomery women's basketball prevailed against Miles 52-49 to finish play in the GSC/SIAC Challenge undefeated.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Junior forward
Jemaiya Lee posted a game-high 17 points with six rebounds.
• Freshman guard
Makaylla Bullard recorded her first double-digit scoring outing of her young collegiate career, going 3-4 from the field and 2-2 from three-point territory with a pair of free throws for 10 points.
• Redshirt senior guard
Kyla Rooks tied for the team-highs in rebounds and assists with seven and three, respectively, while adding eight points.
• Sophomore guard
Aaliyah Milord had seven rebounds and blocked a game-high three shots.
• Junior guard
Evelina Avleeva chipped in seven rebounds, six points three assists and two steals.
• For Miles, Victoria Sutton led the offense with 15 points and five assists while Jaasmine Hollis grabbed a team-best six boards.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• AUM led the entire first quarter, scoring the opening basket of the afternoon and responding to the three times Miles evened up the score to maintain the advantage in a defensive frame.
• Miles took its first lead midway through second quarter, using a 9-2 run to make it 16-13 in favor of the Golden Bears. The Warhawks cut the deficit to one with a pair of free throws from Lee with 30 seconds left in the half, but a 4-2 spree over the final nine seconds put Miles ahead 20-17 at the intermission.
• The Warhawks began the third quarter with three-straight points to even up the score, only for a triple by Miles recreating the three-point separation at 23-20. AUM took the lead with four straight points, resulting in a string of four lead changes before an 8-2 run by AUM to end the frame put them up 38-32.
• Miles began the final quarter with nine-straight points, closing the gap to four at 42-38 before a 5-0 AUM run created a nine-point lead at 47-38. The Golden Bears yet again tried to mount a comeback, getting as close as one on two occasions over the final two minutes, but the Warhawks responded to both rallies with two points to maintain the lead.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The Warhawks converted on 15-40 shots, including 2-7 from three-point territory.
• Miles finished 15-58 from the field and 4-18 from distance.
• AUM scored 16 points in the paint versus 10 for Miles
• AUM committed 19 turnovers, resulting in nine MC points. The Golden Bears committed 15 turnovers, leading to 15 points.
• AUM held a 40-32 advantage in rebounds.
• Miles finished with nine assists with AUM dishing out eight.
• AUM recorded six blocks and five steals while Miles finished with two and eight.
