ROME, Ga. ---- The Auburn Montgomery women's tennis team rolled to an 8-1 victory over Shorter University Wednesday at the Walt Attaway Tennis Center.
 
With the win, the Warhawks improved to 5-1 on the season, while the Lady Hawks fell to 2-3 overall.
 
AUM picked up a pair of victories in doubles play, with Celine Lenertz and Kelly Southwood winning at the No. 2 position and the team of Alejandra Gil and Iris Verweij securing a win at the third position.
 
In singles play, Southwood, Verweij, Lenertz, Gil, Paula Diaz and Anna Rudolfova all breezed to straight-set wins, with Verweij and Rudolfova earning 6-0, 6-0 victories.
 
The Warhawks will return to action next Wednesday, March 1, when they face William Carey in Mobile, Ala., at 9:30 a.m.
