MONTGOMERY, Ala. ---- The Auburn Montgomery men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to No. 9 West Florida Thursday at Lagoon Park.
 
The Warhawks slipped to 1-1 on the season with the result, while the Argos improved to 1-0.
 
AUM avoided the shutout at the No. 3 doubles position, where Alvaro Terron and Francisco Mendieta defeated the No. 12 tandem of Alfonso Castellano and Pablo Tellez, 8-5.
 
In singles play, Terron was the lone Warhawk not to fall in straight sets, but eventually fell to Pedro Dumont, 7-6, 0-6, 7-5 at the No. 4 position.
 
The Warhawks will look to bounce back Friday, Feb. 10, when they travel to Jackson, Miss., for a 1 p.m. contest against Division I Jackson State.
