BOCA RATON, Fla. ---- The Auburn Montgomery men's tennis team dropped its third straight match against a top-10 NCAA Division II foe Monday, as it fell to No. 8 Lynn 5-1 at the Perper Tennis Complex.
The loss dropped the Warhawks to 5-4 on the year, while the Fighting Knights improved to 10-2.
AUM picked up its lone point of the match in doubles play, where the senior duo of
Birkir Gunnarsson and
Vincent Dubosclard earned an 8-4 win at the top spot. The Warhawks battled at the remaining two spots, but fell short. At the No. 2 position,
Matias Destefanis and
Santiago Veglia dropped an 8-5 decision, while
Francisco Mendieta and
Alvaro Terron were defeated 8-6 at the third position.
In singles, AUM fell at the top three positions in straight sets to provide the final margin.
The Warhawks return to action Tuesday, March 14, when they take on North Georgia in Orlando, Fla. The match is slated to begin at 12 p.m.
