MIAMI SHORES, Fla. ----- The Auburn Montgomery men's tennis team was defeated by No. 7 Barry University Thursday, 7-2, at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
 
The loss dropped the Warhawks to 5-6 on the year, while the Buccaneers improved to 9-1. The contest marked the fifth consecutive loss for AUM against a NCAA Division II top-25 team.
 
The three doubles matches were all tight finishes, with AUM taking only an 8-6 decision at the No. 3 position. Santiago Veglia and Matias Destefanis were the lone victors after defeating the duo of Thomas Bugeaud and Flavio Matteoli.
 
In singles, the Warhawks fell in five of the six positions, with Vincent Dubosclard earning a win at the No. 4 spot against Fabian Pronnet, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4). Francisco Mendieta fell at the top spot, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 to No. 2-ranked Ahmed Triki.
 
The Warhawks will conclude their Florida road trip with a match Friday, March 17 against St. Thomas Aquinas. The match will be played at the USTA Tennis Center in Lake Nona, Fla., and will begin at 11 a.m.
