MONTGOMERY, Ala. ---- The No. 30 Auburn Montgomery women's tennis team defeated its third consecutive future Gulf South Conference foe Tuesday, when it defeated Mississippi College 9-0 on Senior Day.
The Warhawks improved to 13-3 on the season with the win, while the Lady Choctaws fell to 9-5.
In doubles play, AUM dropped just nine games en route to a sweep of the three matches. At the top spot,
Paula Diaz and
Anna Rudolfova captured an 8-5 win at the top spot, while
Kelly Southwood and
Celine Lenertz secured an 8-3 win at the No. 2 position.
Iris Verweij and
Alejandra Gil rolled to an 8-1 win at the third position to complete the sweep.
In singles, five of six matches were decided in straight sets, while Diaz rallied from a first-set defeat to defeated Brenna Keller at the top position, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6).
The Warhawks will return to action on Wednesday, March 29, when they host Cumberland at 2 p.m.
