MONTGOMERY, Ala. ------ The Auburn Montgomery baseball team pounded out 15 hits and scored 15 runs in the second game of its doubleheader Friday to salvage a split with visiting Talladega College. The Tornadoes took the opening 5-4, while the Warhawks used an eight-run first inning and batted around in two innings to take the nightcap 15-7.

• With the split, the Warhawks now stand at 15-17 on the season.
• The Tornadoes improved to 25-15 overall.

Michael Tedford matched a school record with four walks in game two. The last Warhawk to walk four times in a game was Blake Barrow on March 20, 2015 against Bethel.
GAME 1 STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Chase Johnson (2-4) was the tough-luck loser in the opener, tossing a seven-inning complete game and allowing just one earned run. He surrendered six hits and walked two, but struck out six and allowed all five runs.
•
John-Mark Cosby finished 1-for-3 with a run batted in.
•
Parker Moman was 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored. He also added a stolen base.
•
Donovan Chandler had a hit and a walk, scored once and stole his 12th base of the season.
• Hamlet Flores finished 1-for-2 with three RBIs and a walk to lead the Tornadoes at the plate.
• Wilkin Louis had two hits and scored twice.
• Bryan Marquez (4-0) earned the victory, scattering five hits and four runs (two earned) in 4 2/3 innings.
• Manuel Caballero picked up his first save of the season with 2 1/3 innings of perfect relief.
GAME 1 HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Tornadoes took advantage of four costly AUM errors in the first three frames, scoring a pair of unearned runs in the first and third innings, respectively, to race to a 4-0 lead. Flores delivered a sacrifice fly in the first inning and walked with the bases loaded the in the third. Cameron Davis also drove in a run in the third with a sacrifice fly.
• The Warhawks used a double steal in the bottom of the third to get on the board, when Chandler swiped second and Moman trotted home from third. Moman led off the frame with a double, while Chandler followed with a single.
• Flores upped the TC lead to 5-1 with a RBI single in the top of the fifth inning, scoring Broderick Johnson, who roped a two-out double.
• AUM made the contest interesting with three runs in the bottom of the inning after loading the bases with no outs. Moman led off the frame by being hit by a pitch, before Chandler and Tedford followed with singles.
Trevor Flynn plated a run with a sacrifice fly, before Chandler came around on a missed catch by third baseman Anthony Rodriguez. Cosby delivered the final run, scoring Tedford on a single to right-centerfield.

GAME 2 STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Cosby finished 3-for-5 with three runs batted in and a run scored.
•
Tanner Russell drove in a game-high four runs, finishing 1-for-3 with a pair of walks and a run scored.
•
Houston Davenport finished two three hits, including his first home run of the season
• Flynn drove in three runs and scored another.
•
Nathan Langley was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and a pair of stolen bases.
• Tedford finished 1-for-1, walking four times and scoring three runs. He also drove in two runs and swiped two bases.
•
Garrett Deloney (4-2) surrendered 12 hits and seven runs in a complete-game effort. He struck out one and walked one to earn the victory.
• Flores was again the hitting hero for the Tornadoes, finishing 2-for-4 with a three-run homer.

GAME 2 HOW IT HAPPENED
• After surrendering a run in the top of the first inning, the Warhawks plated eight runs after sending 14 hitters to the plate in the bottom of the frame. Russell had three RBIs in the inning, including two on a double, while Flynn had two hits in the inning. AUM pounded out five hits and took advantage of an error to chase starter Wilkin Louis (1-3) after just 2/3 of an inning.
• Flores trimmed the margin to 8-4 with a three-run shot in the top of the second inning, scoring Rodriguez and Jesus Zapata, who had hits earlier in the inning.
• The Tornadoes continued to apply the pressure to AUM, adding three runs in the top of the third and pulled to 8-7. Talladega had three hits in the inning, while Davis, Rodriguez and Jorge Rodriguez drove in runs.
• The Warhawks added a run in the bottom of the third when Cosby drove a double down the right-field line to score Tedford.
• AUM put the game out of reach in the fourth inning, scoring five times on three hits. Davenport led off the inning with a solo home run, before Tedford later walked with the bases loaded. Flynn and Russell followed with RBI groundouts to extend the lead, while Cosby capped the scoring in the inning with a run-scoring single.
• The Warhawks scored their final run in bottom of the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Flynn.

• The Warhawks and Tornadoes will continue their series with two games Saturday at Talladega College. The twin bill is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
