SAVANNAH, Ga. ----- The No. 30 Auburn Montgomery women's tennis team had its seven-match win streak snapped Friday, when it fell at No. 4 Armstrong State 5-3 at the Armstrong Tennis Complex.
With the loss, the Warhawks fell to 16-4 on the season, while the Lady Pirates improved to 19-3 overall.
AUM was able to secure one point in doubles play, when the senior tandem of
Kelly Southwood and
Celine Lenertz outlasted the duo of Diana Stomlega and Tatjana Stoll, 9-8, at the No. 2 position.
In singles play, Southwood and
Iris Verweij earned victories, with Verweij coming in straight sets and Southwood winning after her opponent retired.
The Warhawks will conclude their season Saturday, April 15, when they travel to Clayton State for a 1 p.m. match.
