HOW IT HAPPENED
• Each side went three up, three down in the first. Scott allowed just a single base runner in the second.
• The Warhawks loaded the bases in the bottom of the second, but were unable to push anything across.
• Riding some momentum into the top half, Sellers homered with one out to give the Grizzlies the lead 1-0.
• The score would remain 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth. With two outs in the inning, Davis reached on a throwing error by the Grizzly third baseman, reaching second on the play. After fouling off four 2-2 offerings, Chandler poked a ball to left field, scoring Davis to tie the game at one.
• Cosby led off the next inning with a single, and was sacrificed into scoring position by
Curtiss Johnson. Two batters later, Flynn singled up the middle to score Cosby, giving the Warhawks their first lead and only lead of the ballgame.
• Langley led off the bottom of the seventh with a single, advancing into second on an errant throw. Moman would follow with his second single of the contest to put runners on the corners. Davis then grounded a ball to short that the shortstop misplayed, scoring Langley to extend the lead. Chandler followed with a safety squeeze bunt of his own, scoring pincher runner
Landon Pruitt. Tedford reached on a throwing error by the shortstop to score Davis and AUM led by four. After Johnson walked, Russell hit a two-run double in the left center gap to push the lead to 7-1.
• After loading the bases with no outs, Scott struck out two consecutive hitters. He got a pop out to get out of the inning, but it was misplayed, scoring two unearned runs and ending his outing. Langley struck out the first hitter he saw and escaped the inning.
• The Grizzlies tallied a single in the top of the ninth, but Langley struck out two and the game ended with a caught stealing attempt on a 1-2 offering. The Warhawks won 7-3.
