Vincent Dubosclard Selected Men’s Tennis Warhawk of the Month

MONTGOMERY, Ala. ----- Auburn Montgomery senior Vincent Dubosclard was selected the men's tennis Warhawk of the Month for April Wednesday.

Dubosclard, a native of Paris, France, finished the month 2-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles play.

"Vincent is very deserving of this honor," head coach Rolando Vargas said. "He played extremely well in the final matches of his career and really gave our team a speak with his dominance. He finished his career with arguably the biggest win of his career against Armstrong State, so he certainly ended his career on a high note. He wanted to finish his career strong and was so proud of winning that match. I am proud of all the things he accomplished during his career."

In his first match of the month, Dubosclard teamed with sophomore Santiago Veglia for an 8-1 doubles win against Middle Georgia State University, the NAIA's No. 16 team in the nation. He followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 2 singles position against the Knights. Despite dropping his doubles match against No. 4 Armstrong State, Dubosclard secured a 7-6, 6-1 victory at the top spot against the Pirates Luca Cerin, the No. 8 ranked player in ITA's Division II individual rankings.

Dubosclard finished the 2017 campaign with a 13-5 singles record and won his final eight decisions. He also posted a 10-9 doubles record, playing exclusively at the No. 1 position.

In addition to his on-court accolades, Dubosclard was selected the AUM Male Student-Athlete of the Year and the Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Finance in the College of Business.

The Warhawks, who completed their first season playing a full Division II schedule with a 13-6, were ranked No. 13 in the national poll, while also checking in at No. 7 in the South Region. AUM ended the season on an eight-match winning streak, capped by a 5-3 win against then-No. 4 Armstrong State University.
