HOW IT HAPPENED
• Coppinger began the contest with a kill to give AUM the early lead. The Warhawks held their own against UAH for the first 30 points, trailing by only two at 16-14 before five-straight points made it a seven-point separation at 21-14. AUM ended the run with a point before four-straight by the Chargers ended the frame.
• UAH carried the momentum from the previous frame into the second set, scoring the opening five points. AUM managed to cut the deficit to two following a quick three-point rally to make it 13-11, but an equal response from the Chargers recreated the five-point separation and prevented the Warhawks from climbing back to within three for the remainder of the stanza.
• In similar fashion to the previous set, UAH began the third frame with a 5-0 run. AUM managed to cut the deficit to as little as three behind a 9-4 stretch, but back-to-back points for the hosts recreated their five-point lead. Facing elimination at 24-17, the Warhawks tried to mount a comeback using back-to-back service aces from
Kiana Yangson to create a 3-0 rally before UAH scored the final point of the contest.
