MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After hosting their inaugural home match the previous night, the Auburn Montgomery volleyball team added another milestone to the season on Saturday afternoon by defeating West Georgia 3-2 (15-25, 28-26, 25-21, 25-22, 15-11) for their first Gulf South Conference victory.
NOTES
• AUM improves to 7-6 overall, 1-2 in league play.
• West Georgia falls to 1-9 with a 0-2 mark in GSC action.

Brianna Garvin set the program record for blocks in a match with five.
• The Warhawks are undefeated in five-set matches, holding a 2-0 mark in contests that go the distance.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Redshirt junior right-side hitter
Kheala Roberts led the team on offense and defense, setting career-marks in kills with 15 and digs with 16 while posting her first double-double as a Warhawk.
• Junior setter
Carly Smart tallied 44 assists with a career-high 14 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.
• Freshman outside hitter
Skylar Coppinger chipped in 11 kills with a personal-best 15 digs for her second career double-double.
• Along with her program-record block total, Garvin added 13 kills on a .364 hitting percentage.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• West Georgia took control of the opening set early, using a 6-0 spree to take a 10-6 advantage. AUM responded with back-to-back points to cut the deficit to two before a pair of quick tallies for the visitors recreated their four-score cushion which they quickly built on.
• Despite trailing for the bulk of the second stanza, AUM orchestrated a late 4-0 rally to take the 22-21 lead. The Warhawks created set point at 24-23, but three-consecutive tallies for UWG gave them set point at 25-24. AUM ended the frame with a 4-1 spree to knot up the overall score.
• Riding the momentum from the previous frame, AUM boasted a set-high 17 terminations off a .308 hitting percentage to take the 2-1 advantage. The Warhawks ended the frame on a 6-0 run, turning a 21-19 deficit into a 25-21 victory.
• AUM continued it's run from the third stanza into the fourth with the opening four tallies, giving them a 10-0 run before UWG ended the spree. The Warhawks led by as many as six at 17-11 before an 6-1 stretch made it a one-point affair at 18-17. The visitors used a 5-1 run to force the fifth set, scoring the final three points of the frame.
• AUM scored the opening point of the final frame and six of the first 10 to hold a slim 6-4 edge. West Georgia used a 3-1 run to knot the score at 7-all, the first of four tied scores in a seven-play stretch before a 6-1 spree by the Warhawks ended the contest.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM finished the match 57 kills on a .191 hitting percentage versus 60 on a .197 clip for West Georgia
• West Georgia held a 72-68 advantage in digs.
• At the net, UWG boasted 11 blocks with AUM posting six.
• The two sides combined for 12 service aces, with the Warhawks posting five versus seven for the visitors.
