AUM Drops First Home Game Of 2018 To Alabama Huntsville, 106-77

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama Huntsville converted 17 3-pointers and had six different players score in double figures en route to a 106-77 victory over Auburn Montgomery on Saturday afternoon in Gulf South Conference play, as the Warhawks dropped their first home game of 2018.
 
NOTES
• AUM falls to 6-9 on the year with a 2-6 mark in GSC play.
• UAH improves to 12-5 overall and 5-4 in league action.
• The game marked the second contest in a row that AUM has given up 100 or more points.
• Today was the first meeting between the two schools since the 2011-12 season.
• The series record is now tied at 19-19.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
Kenneth Keith scored a career-high 24 points coming off the bench for AUM, adding four assists and three steals (also career highs).
Reagan Eubanks scored 23 with a team-high five rebounds.
Desmond DeRamus tallied 10 points for the Warhawks, going over 900 points for his career. The junior from Montgomery, Ala., sits at 902 career points and is 98 away from 1,000.
• UAH's Justin Ward scored a team-high 18 for the Chargers.
• Chayse Elliott tallied 15 points and eight rebounds for UAH, while teammate Kip Owens had 14 points and nine boards.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
• AUM went up 5-0 before eventually taking an 11-4 lead with Eubanks hit a trey with 16:37 to play in the first.
• The Chargers would hit three 3-pointers in less than a minute to go up 13-11 with 15:33 in the first.
• After Jarett Croff tied the game at 13-13 with 15:15 on the clock, the Chargers would go on a 17-10 run to take a 30-23 lead with 8:45 to play.
• Over the final nine minutes UAH built their lead to 48-37, taking an 11-point advantage into the break.
• Eubanks made the first bucket of the second half to cut the lead to 48-39, but the Chargers would score 16 unanswered points before Eubanks hit a layup with 15:36 to go to end the drought.
• UAH would push its lead to as much as 41 in the second half, leading 92-51 with 9:00 left in the game.
• AUM outscored the Chargers 26-16 over the final nine minutes, but fell 106-77.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
• UAH outrebounded AUM 49-27.
• The Chargers outscored AUM 21-6 in second chance baskets.
• UAH converted 17-34 treys in the contest, while the Warhawks converted 12-39.
 
UP NEXT
The Warhawks will play their second home game in a row on Monday when they welcome the University of North Alabama to the AUM Gymnasium for a GSC matchup. Opening tip is set for 8 p.m. between the Warhawks and the Lions.
