HOW IT HAPPENED

The teams then traded serves back and forth until AUM was able to cut Lee advantage to 17-10 on a kill by Garvin. The Flames would respond with a 4-0 run before the Warhawks answered with a 4-0 run of their own. With Lee leading 22-14 the two teams each tallied three points over the rest of the frame as the Flames took the first set 25-17.
• In the second set the two teams battled to a 6-6 tie before the Flames tallied three straight points to go up 9-6. After a Carly Smart kill gave the Orange & Black the serve and cut the Lee lead to 9-7 the Flames went on a 6-0 run to go up 15-7. Each team would score 10 points the rest of the way as Lee would take the frame 25-17 again, winning on an AUM service error.
• AUM struggled to get its offense on track in the third set, falling behind 12-1 before Garvin was able to break the Lee rally with a kill. The two teams traded points once again before Lee was able to push its advantage to 19-5.
