MONTGOMERY, Ala. –The Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team dropped their first home contest of the 2018-19 season 53-45 to the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College on Saturday, Nov. 17.

Standout Performers
- For the third straight contest, freshman
Jordan Brewster led the Warhawks in scoring, with 15 points scored on a 5-10 shooting night. The freshman guard went 4-9 from the three-point line in the game.
- Junior transfer
Victoria Morales posted a team-high nine rebounds, to go along with seven points and a team-high three blocks.

Makaylla Bullard distributed a game-high seven assists, in addition to scoring five points.

Evelina Avleeva scored eight points, to go along with six boards.
How it Happened
- AUM jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead on baskets from Avleeva and Morales within the first minute and a half of play to begin the game.
- Both teams would see their highest-scoring quarters in period number one of the game, with the Warhawks tallying a season-best 20 points through the first ten minutes.
- Quarter number two would see both teams take a step back offensively, with the AUM outscoring Young Harris 10-9 in the period.
- Avleeva was able to put the Warhawks up 30-29 on a layup with 2:57 left in quarter number two, to see the Warhawks take a one-point lead into halftime.
- The second half would see the Warhawks to continue to decline on offense, as they mustered up just eight points in quarter number three.
- Neither team lead by more than two points in the third, with the Warhawks grabbing the lead twice, the Mountain Lions taking the lead five times, and the game being tied three times. The Warhawk's latest lead in the third came on a layup by Morales with 6:36 left in the period.
- The Warhawk defense held the Mountain Lions to just 11 points in the quarter, however, and hung tight with them as they trailed Young Harris just 40-38 after three quarters.
- Quarter number four saw the largest scoring discrepancy of the game, with the Warhawks being outscored 13-7 in the period.
- After Brewster cut AUM's deficit to 44-42 on a successful free throw with 6:30 left to play, Young Harris would go on a 9-3 scoring run the rest of the way to secure the 53-45 win over AUM.
Inside the Boxscore
- AUM shot 34 percent from the floor (17-49), while shooting 27 percent (5-18) from beyond the arc and 54 percent from the free throw line (5-11).
- The Warhawks shot 41 percent from the field in half, number one, while posting a mark of just 23 percent in half number two.
- AUM accounted for 12 assists on the afternoon, compared to just eight for Young Harris.
