MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team dropped their second home contest of the 2018-19 season on Sunday, Nov. 25 74-47 to the number-16 ranked Nighthawks of the University of North Georgia.
Notes
- With the loss, AUM's record drops to 0-5 on the season.
- The loss narrow's the Warhawk's all-time advantage over North Georgia to 20-18.
- For the first time this season, the Warhawks saw a pair of players score in double figures.
Standout Performers

Jordan Brewster tallied AUM's highest point total for the fifth-consecutive game, with 16 points on a 4-9 shooting performance from the three-point line. The freshman guard has notched double-digit points in her first five collegiate contests for the Warhawks this season.

Makaylla Bullard notched a season-high 10 points in the setback, to go along with two assists and two rebounds.

Aaliyah Milord pulled down a game-high nine rebounds, with two assists and one block.

Evelina Avleeva added eight points, with seven rebounds, two assists and a game-high two blocked shots.
How it Happened
- The opening minutes of the game saw both teams exchanging leads, with the Warhawks going up 3-2 on their first basket of the game, a three-pointer from Brewster, at the 8:48 mark in the first.
- A layup from Avleeva would cut AUM's deficit to just 6-5 at the 7:26 mark, but an 18-5 run from the Nighthawks over the remaining minutes of the quarter helped bolster North Georgia's lead to 24-10 after 10 minutes of play.
-Quarter number two proved to be the Warhawks most productive of the game, outscoring the Nighthawks 15-14 in the period and cutting their deficit to nine at the 6:09 mark on a layup from Avleeva.
- Avleeva and Bullard both led the way offensively for AUM, with four points apiece in the second quarter.
- The Warhawks tallied six of the third quarter's first eight points, including a successful jumper from Brewster at the 7:32 mark to cut AUM's deficit to single digits at 40-31
- The Nighthawks would crank it up a notch offensively, however, and close out the quarter on a 17-7 scoring run to lead 57-38 at the end of the period.
- AUM tallied the first four points in the fourth quarter, but a 17-5 run from the Nighthawks to close out the game would give way to the final score 74-47.

"I thought at times that we played okay," Head Coach
Sean Page said post game. "You can tell why they (North Georgia) are one of the top D-II teams in the country. They definitely serve as an example for where we are trying to get to as a team."
Inside the Boxscore
- AUM shot 30 percent (19-62) from the field in the contest, while shooting a season-high 83 percent (5-6) from the free throw line.
- The Warhawks accounted for a season-high 20 points in the paint, and eight points off of Nighthawk miscues.
- The orange and black also tallied a season-high for blocked shots in a game, with seven total.

- The Warhawks will return to action on Thursday, Nov. 29, when they kick off Gulf South Conference action with a home matchup against Lee University. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
