MONTGOMERY, Ala– The Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team opened up Gulf South Conference play on Thursday, Nov. 29 with a 61-31 setback to the Lady Flames of Lee University from the AUM Gymnasium.
With the loss, AUM's record drops to 0-6 overall, and 0-1 in GSC play.

Aaliyah Milord pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds in the game, a mark that also accounted for her season high. Milord also registered a team-high six points.

Evelina Avleeva and
Jordan Brewster both also tallied six points, with Avleeva grabbing six boards.

Victoria Morales recorded seven rebounds and team-high two blocks, while
Makaylla Bullard distributed a team-high three assists.
How it Happened
- The Lady Flames opened up the game on a 10-3 run, until the final seconds of the quarter when Avleeva's buzzer beater would make the score 10-5 through one period of play.
- The Warhawks drew to within three points of the Lady Flames at the 8:19 mark in the second quarter on a layup from Avleeva, but Lee would rattle off a 12-3 run for the remainder of the second period take a 25-13 lead into the break.
- AUM would cut their deficit back down to just eight points on a three-ball from Brewster at the 5:20 mark in the third, but the Flames would once again use a scoring run to thwart an AUM comeback effort, going on a 10-0 run to end the period.
- The fourth quarter saw the Warhawks surrender their highest point total of the game to the Flames, giving up 21 in the final 10 minutes.
- Milord accounted for five of her points in quarter number four, before seeing the game give way to the 61-31 final.

"I'm proud of the way we played defensively, and of the effort we put forth for all 40 minutes," Head Coach
Sean Page said. "As a coach, however, I've got to find better ways for us to score, and the players need to make shots when they have the opportunity."
Inside the Boxscore
- AUM held Lee to just 24 percent (7-29) shooting from the the field in half number one, while also holding the Flames to just 12 percent (1-8) from beyond the arc.
- The Warhawks shot 24.5 percent (11-45) from the field on the night, while allowing the Flames to finish at just 32.8 percent (20-61) from the floor and 23 percent (5-21) from the three-point line.
- Nine of the Warhawk's points on the evening came off of the bench, while they also tallied 16 points in the paint.
- Both teams accounted for eight assists in the contest.
- The Warhawks blocked four shots on the night, compared to just two for the Lady Flames.
- Brewster logged a season-high 40 minutes, while Milord played in 39 minutes and Bullard saw 32 minutes of work in the contest.
