MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team opened up their 2018-19 season on Friday, Nov. 9 with a 62-50 setback to the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University on day one of the GSC/SIAC Conference Challenge.

Jaylyn Felder all made their debut for AUM on the evening, while combining for 31 of AUM's points.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Brewster led the way offensively for AUM, scoring a team-high 14 points in her debut for the orange and black. The freshman guard also led the Warhawk attack with four three-pointers made.
- Senior
Evelina Avleeva pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds, while also leading the Warhawks with three blocks and four steals on the night. Avleeva also accounted for five points.
- Morales scored nine points, while grabbing six rebound and dishing out a team-high three assists for the Warhawks in her first game for AUM.
- Boone added six points, while also recording six rebounds in her AUM debut.
How It Happened
- The Golden Tigers opened up the contest on a 9-0 run, before junior
Bailee Wolfe would notch AUM's first two points at the 6:45 mark of the quarter.
- The Warhawks battled back in the remaining minutes of the first quarter, pulling to within two points on two different occasions, as the score would read 14-10 after the first 10 minutes of play.
- The Golden Tigers would extend their lead to nine points on three separate occasions in the second quarter, but the Warhawks saw their highest offensive quarterly production in the second, capped off by a 6-0 run in the final three and a half minutes, to pull within three points at the break.
- Tuskegee kicked off the second half with an 8-0 run, and would hold a 46-39 advantage over AUM after three quarters, as a result of outscoring the Warhawks 18-14 in the quarter.
- The Warhawks would cut their deficit to just four points with 5:48 left on a lay up from Boone, but a 10-3 run by Tuskegee in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter would give way to the 62-50 final score.

"I thought we had some good patches of play," Page said. Our lack of depth and experience, however, showed up for us when the game was on the line."
Inside The Boxscore
- AUM shot 31 percent from the floor on the night, going 10-31 overall and 6-30 from beyond the arc.
- The Warhawk reserves scored 18 points in the contest, compared to 17 for the Golden Tigers.
- AUM racked up 12 second-chance points, and 10 points in the paint
- The orange and black tallied 44 rebounds in the contest, matching the Golden Tiger's mark of 44.
