ANDERSON, S.C. –The Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team was outscored by (RV) Anderson University just 40-39 through the final three quarters of play, but a 33-point first quarter from the Trojans helped propel them to a 73-52 win over the Warhawks on Sunday, Dec. 30 in non-conference action.

Standout Performers

Jordan Brewster led the way offensively for AUM, scoring 19 points on a 5-13 shooting performance from the three-point line. Brewster also brought down three rebounds and added an assist.

Evelina Avleeva and
Makaylla Bullard both contributed for nine points, with Avleeva registering seven rebounds and four assists on the afternoon.

Victoria Morales hauled in a team-high nine rebounds to go along with two points, a block and a steal.

Bailee Wolfe recorded six points off of the bench for AUM, while also tallying three boards.

Aaliyah Milord accounted for six rebounds, three assists and three points on the day.
How it Happened
- The Warhawks surrendered a season-high 33 first-quarter points to Anderson, which began with a 12-3 run by the Trojans through the first two and a half minutes of play.
- A successful jumper by Morales at the 6:38 brought AUM to within seven points at 12-5, but the Trojans would rattle off a 21-8 scoring run over the final minutes of the first to lead 33-13 at quarters end.
- The Warhawks outscored the Trojans 19-13 in quarter number two, with Brewster notching a team-high six points in the period on a pair of treys.
- AUM tallied eight of the period's final 10 points, including a jumped by Bullard in the final seconds of the quarter to bring AUM's deficit 46-32 at the end of the first half.
- The Warhawks got the closest they would get to the Trojans in the second half on their opening basket, a three-ball by Brewster, to bring AUM to within 11 at 46-35 with 9:37 left in the third quarter.
- The Trojans would close out the third on an 11-4 run to lead 59-37 after 30 minutes of play.
- The Warhawks hung with the Trojans offensively in quarter number four, being outscored just 16-13.

"This was a pretty solid effort against a very good team," Head Coach
Sean Page said. "Much credit is due to Anderson, for getting off to such a hot start and scoring 33 first-quarter points. We kept it close the next three quarters, though, with the score being just 40-39 through the final three periods. I was happy with the way we kept fighting, but we need to get better."
