- AUM would work their way back into the game over the final minutes of the first quarter, however, going on an 8-2 run to close out the first. Brewster recorded all eight points in the scoring run, including three free throws to pull AUM to within four at 14-10 with 32 seconds left in the period.

- The Warhawks took the lead for the first time in the ball game on their opening basket in the quarter, a layup from
Victoria Morales at the 8:50 mark. AUM would extend their lead all the way to five on a jumper from Avleeva with 5:38 to go, but Montevallo would rebuttal to cut their deficit to 44-43 with 4:10 left to play.

Quoting the Coach
"I was pleased with our effort and how we stuck with (Montevallo) tonight, especially after getting down early," Head Coach
Sean Page said. "Once again, though, our failure to execute down the stretch really hurt us. It's pretty hard to win games when you turn the ball over 17 times and give up 15 offensive rebounds. To lose by 3 at home, while giving up 16 points off turnovers and 19 second-chance points is a tough loss to take for sure."
